Steve Lee, Ed.D.

Being fully indoctrinated into all things Minnesota as a child growing up in a Minneapolis suburb, I still claim that state as home even though I haven’t lived there for 40+ years. The beauty of 10,000+ lakes! Some of the most formative years for me happened at Bethel College (now University) in Minnesota, where I majored in Psychology and solidified my faith in Christ. Bethel is also where I met Twyla!  It has been an adventure as God has taken us on a ride that now spans more than 44 years.  We thank Him not only for what He has done in our lives and marriage, but also for the chance to share in the lives and relationships of others.

Twyla Lee, M.S.W.

We find investing in the personal and professional development of people is inspiring!  I was born and raised on the plains of North Dakota by a dad who was the son of a homesteader, and a mother who was a World War II refugee. Attending Bethel College in St. Paul, MN was a blessing in many ways I never expected—for one thing, Steve Lee was on my Welcome Week staff and was later to become a dear friend, lab partner, boyfriend, and husband (in that order)!  We have found real joy as God has given us opportunities to grow in our relationship and serve together-- in our community, our church, and across the country.  Raising two sons, adding two daughters-in-law, and now being involved in the lives of our 5 grandkids enrich our personal lives, too!

We have led numerous seminars and retreats, both nationally and internationally. Married for 44 years, we have experienced the challenges and joys of ‘becoming one’ and enjoy sharing from our own story. Combining our story with our professional training and work, we love to share our passion for improving marriages and relationships. We have co-authored articles published in Marriage and Family: A Christian Journal, contributed to the book, Raising Sons and Loving It, and written a column, Family Matters, for a denominational publication.
